The 1992 HZJ80 Toyota Landcruiser

For quick trips where we don’t want to mount the camper on our Toyota Tacoma we tend to use the diesel Landcruiser. While it lacks the creature comforts of our brand new Tacoma, albeit 2021 versus 1992, it is a reliable beast.

For the past few months I have been busy upgrading some of the worn components on the old cruiser. New springs, shocks, front brakes, rotors, tie rod ends and other maintenance items that sadly, were put off for much too long.

For the suspension I ended up going back to approximately stock height since I also decided to downsize the tires to 31″. Felt like the non-aspirated diesel was struggling to turn the big 33s. ?
